The Desolations of devil's acre - Ransom Riggs
In The Desolations of Devil’s Acre, the peculiar children are facing their most perilous challenge yet. The story picks up after the events of A Map of Days, where Jacob Portman and his peculiar friends—along with their ymbryne, Miss Peregrine—are forced to confront the nefarious Wights and the twisted Hollowgast once again. Jacob, who has the rare and powerful ability to see hollowgasts, finds himself in a race against time to save not only the peculiar children but the world of the peculiars themselves.
The peculiar children are struggling to rebuild after the devastation caused by the Wights and their malevolent leader, Caul. Caul’s ultimate goal is to create a world where peculiars dominate, and the Wights and Hollowgasts are free to terrorize all non-peculiars. As the peculiar children come to terms with their losses and gather their strength, they realize that they must take the fight to Caul and his followers to stop them once and for all.
The journey leads them to the desolate and dangerous place known as Devil’s Acre, a location that holds powerful secrets about the origins of peculiars and their connection to time loops. There, Jacob and his friends must confront their deepest fears and navigate the treacherous and shifting realities of the peculiar world, including the enigmatic and terrifying devil's acre, a place where time loops seem to fracture and memories become distorted.
As Jacob’s powers and leadership are tested, he also struggles with his identity and his place within the peculiar world. His relationships with his friends, especially Emma (his romantic interest), grow more complicated, and the stakes are higher than ever before. The children must work together to face their enemies, but not all of them may make it out alive. Along the way, they uncover shocking truths about their past and the nature of their peculiar abilities.
